The client required the design of a new resort in place of an existing but derelict and entirely land-based one, that was to be mostly demolished on the island of Ras Fushi in the Maldives.
This involved the structural design of both land and water-based villas (140 in total), restaurants, a spa and swimming pool. Our scope of work also covered the assessment of the structural soundness of a few public buildings and several existing ancillary buildings, which were to be retained and converted, as well as the extention of, or in part, reinforcement of the existing seawall.
