SMC Consulting Engineers carried out detailed design and construction supervision for the luxurious cruise terminal situated at the A1 berth in Laemchabang Port, Chonburi Province, Thailand.

The cruise terminal, with its 365m long berth, can accommodate cruise vessels up to 268m overall length with up to 1,500 passengers. The berth was built in front of an existing wharf which was originally constructed to serve only coastal ships with shallower draft and had been undermined due to toe erosion. The new berth structure hence not only rehabilitated the damaged existing one but also upgraded the A1 berth to a higher capacity.
