Hoa Phat Dung Quat Steel Mill Complex and associated Port
Vietnam
The Hoa Phat Dung Quat Steel Mill Complex project is a major industrial project in Quang Ngai province. It includes a plant construction area of 340 hectares and a greenfield port area of 27 hectares.

The greenfield port will have a capacity of 21.9 million tons per year in the first phase, accommodating ships of up to 100,000 DWT, and 32.9 million tons per year in the second phase, allowing ships of up to 250,000 DWT. The port will have 11 berths and 40 hectares of storage yards.

The foundation works for the onshore plant utilize prestressed centrifugal pressing piles and bored piles, totaling over 2 million meters in length and over 10,000 piles. The port and berth foundations also use bored piles and prestressed centrifugal driven piles. Major dredging works of 15 million m3 and backfilling/reclamation are also included.

ARTELIA was granted the Project Management and work supervision services for all the civil works and foundations of the onshore facilities, factory, and associated port project in 2017. More than 50 permanent ARTELIA staff are on site for construction supervision, quality management, health & safety monitoring, and quantity survey.
