PTT GC, the client, required an extension to Jetty No 2 at PTTGC-7 as a new jetty to handle the import of propane gas.
SMC’s responsibilities covered a preliminary study to ascertain the best layout for the extension and subsequently the detailed design of the new jetty, which included the following:
Review of existing data and undertake site survey to assess interface between the extension of the new jetty , topside piping and other relevant connections
Establishing vessel range and characteristics
Preparation of options for layout
Hydrographic survey
Metocean & seismic study
Mooring analysis and optimisation of jetty layout and berth orientation
Ship simulation
Weather down-time study
Preliminary layout and soil investigation based on selected layout
Preparation of design criteria, calculations, detailed design and specifications
Preparation of bills of quantities and cost estimation
Assistance with preparation of Issue To Bid Documents including contractor’s scope of work, construction schedule
Assistance in selection of bidders and technical evaluation of the bids
